The NHL is returning to Winnipeg, but only for one night.

The Phoenix Coyotes announced Thursday that the team will play the Toronto Maple Leafs at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba on Wednesday, Sept. 19 in a preseason game.

The game will mark the Coyotes' second visit to Winnipeg since moving to Phoenix in 1996. The Coyotes played the Edmonton Oilers in a preseason game at the MTS Centre last year in the team's first return to Winnipeg.

Coyotes' captain Shane Doan played the 1995-96 season in a Winnipeg Jets' uniform after being selected by the organization in the first round (7th overall) in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft. Coyotes' Head Equipment Manager Stan Wilson and Massage Therapist Jukka Nieminen have also been members of the organization since the team played in Winnipeg.

Kinda like watching paint dry... I think I'll stay home for this one!

I'm a Calgary fan and I am just plain embarrassed.

That city was pretty quiet I'll tell ya. There wasn't even hockey games on the TVs in the restaurant we went to. That's just sad. I had to watch the Detroit/Anaheim OT on the plane because there wasn't even a TV on the game in the airport.

They really don't give a crapola once they are out of the playoffs.
