Okay, here's the scoop. Shaw, in their great wisdom, has decided to re-work their webspace to make it more user friendly, more blog like. In their attempt for "improvements", they managed to fuck up the ftp (file transfer protocol).... ie. it is the method by which their customers transfer files from their local computer to the webspace shaw servers and vice versa. The Pool Boy server communicates to all the Pool Boy users via direct client to server connection and as well by file transfer through the shaw webspace. The latter is the problem here. To sum it up, I am currently trying to use work-arounds and temporary band-aide solutions to get the Pool Boy to stumble its way through, but ultimately until shaw gets their act together the Pool Boy will have various quarks... very frustrating  |
